The certification signifies our continuous commitment to reducing our environmental impact across areas such as energy, water, waste, chemical usage, and food. In practice, this means that we use 100% renewable electricity, sort and recycle waste, use eco-labeled cleaning products, and implement concrete initiatives to reduce both water consumption and food waste. At breakfast, we offer organic options and track our greenhouse gas emissions annually to gradually reduce our climate impact.

We prioritize eco-certified suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability. Through knowledge, commitment, and clear procedures, we aim to increase awareness of how our choices affect the environment and foster an eco-conscious company culture where all employees feel involved in our collective environmental efforts.

Internationally, Green Key is managed by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), an international collaboration between environmental organizations founded in 1981. The certification is also supported by the World Tourism Organization and the United Nations Environment Programme. To obtain and maintain the certification, the organization must meet a set of mandatory criteria and undergo regular external audits.
